Gerardus Brugmans

Gerardus (Gerry) Brugmans died peacefully and surrounded by his family at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's Disease. He passed away on Dec. 14, 2002 at the age of 75.
He was born in Holland on Sept. 18, 1927 to Pieter and Petronella Brugmans. He was the loving husband for 48 years of Jane VanderHeyden. He was the devoted father of Wilma Winters (Jim) of Finch, John and Pat of Chesterville, Elly Johnson (David) of Toronto, Anne Arial (Steve) of Orleans, Garry (Terri) of Chesterville and Tracy Whyte (Peter) of Morrisburg.
He was dear Poppa of 12 grandchildren. He is survived by brothers Johan, Albert, Theo and Sjef; and sisters Sister Gaudia (Anne) and Stiena, all of Holland.
He was predeceased by his parents, son Peter, brother Antoon and sisters Nella and Marietje.
Family and friends visited at the Chesterville Funeral Home on Dec. 18. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Dec. 19 at 11 am, followed by interment at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Donations to the Winchester District Memorial Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
