Barbara Ann Dawson
Barbara Ann Dawson of Glen Becker, formerly of Toronto and Canton, Ohio, died peacefully on Mon., April 29, 2002 at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital in her 76th year.
She was the beloved wife of Peter Dawson of Morrisburg, who she married in Brockville on Nov. 18, 1981. She was the loving mother of Kim (Tony) Marshalek of Warren, Ohio, Jeff (Donna) Allen of Canton, Ohio, Mike (Patti) Allen of Columbus, Ohio and Joel (Pauline) Allen of Ottawa. Dear grandmother of Amy Marshalek of Cleveland, Ohio, Jenny (Sean) Shaw of Newark, Ohio, Jason (Susan) Allen of Grove City, Ohio, Stephanie, Charlotte and Emily Allen, all of Ottawa.
She was a loving great-grandmother of Douglas Allen and Riley Anna, both of Ohio. Dear sister of Patricia (Bill) Nakrin of Cleveland, Ohio, and Dr. Alex (Katherine) Lewis of Sarasota, Florida.
Mrs. Dawson was born on Sept. 1, 1926 in Canton, Ohio to the late Alexander Neeley Lewis and Anna Elizabeth Smith. She was self-employed as a psychotherapist.
Her husband Peter wrote this in her honor:
"In loving memory of my wife, partner, and soul mate, Mon., 29/04/02.
I sat and watched an angel grow, as I vanished from her sight.
I sat and watched her grow and glow, in the silence of the night.
And with the Lord's eternal grace, hand in hand we'll take our place.
I loved her then, I love her now. Together to the Lord we'll bow."
She will be missed by all whose hearts she touched, family, extended family, friends and clients.
Funeral service was held at St. James Anglican Church, Morrisburg on Thurs., May 2 with Rev. Bill Byers officiating. Interment at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Morrisburg.
Pallbearers were Gregory Dawson, son-in-law Tony Marshalek, brother Dr. Alexander Lewis and three sons, Jeff, Mike and Joel Allen.
Memorial donations to Dundas County Hospice, Canadian Red Cross or Winchester District Memorial Hospital gratefully acknowledged.
