Carol Margaret Fairbairn
Peacefully at Winchester District Memorial
Hospital on Sat., March 30, 2002, Carol Margaret Fairbairn (nee
Monteith) of Morrisburg died, in her 57th year.
She was the beloved daughter of Effie Monteith of Morrisburg and
the late David William Monteith. Loving mother of Sheri and her
husband Grant Waldroff of Ingleside, and Ian and his wife Tara
of Cardinal. Precious grandmother of Hailey Lynn Waldroff. Dear
sister of Doug and his wife Bonnie Monteith of Mallorytown and
Sandra Monteith of Brockville.
She was born on May 10, 1945 in Ottawa.
Mrs. Fairbairn attended Mountain District High School, graduating
in 1962, and received her diploma from Brockville General Hospital
School of Nursing in 1967. She worked at Paramed in the South
Dundas Area; HWS - Level II and 23 years at Fairbairn Funeral
Home Ltd., Morrisburg as secretary. She worked for 1.5 years at
WDMH as Nursing Care on the first floor and spent one year at
WDMH doing Special Duty Nursing.
She volunteered and canvassed for over 20 years for local charities
such as the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation
and CNIB. Her interests included golfing, Ladies Night and other
tournaments at the Morrisburg Golf Course, bowling, cycling, walking,
bridge and euchre.
Funeral service was held at Lakeshore Drive United Church, Morrisburg
on Wed., April 3 with Rev. Jean Udall officiating. Spring inurnment
at South Mountain Union Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tom Lalonde, Bill Renshaw, Douglas G. Casselman,
Garnet Waldroff, Mike Van Allen and Rob Casselman.
Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Winchester
District Memorial Hospital gratefully acknowledged.
