Bevis Melbourne Graham
Bevis Melbourne Graham, a prominent
member of Winchester's business community, died after a courageous
battle with cancer on Mon., May 6, 2002 at Winchester District
Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. He is gone to be
with his Lord at the age of 64 years.
Beloved husband and best friend of Verla Graham (Black). Dear
father of David of Brampton and Carolyn of Toronto. Son of the
late Percy and Lula (Meharey) Graham.
He was the loved brother of Willard (Dorothy) of Innisfail, Alberta,
Mervin (Cecilia) of Calgary, Alberta, Lilliss (Lloyd) Morrice
of Brandon, Manitoba, late (Dave) Eldred and his wife Jackie of
Valemount, B.C. Dear brother-in-law of Lorna and Charlie Holmes
of Winchester Springs, and Sharon and Winston Holmes of Nepean.
He was a special nephew to Ruby Spiller (Graham) of Kemptville
and Jim Graham of Hamilton. Fondly remembered by many nieces,
nephews and friends.
Mr. Graham attended schools in Russell. He was employed by Sealtest
Dairies for 10 years while living in Ottawa. He moved to Winchester
in 1967.
He was owner of B.M. Graham's Fuels for 20 years. He retired in
1996. He was an elder in the Presbyterian Church for over 30 years.
He was a member of Winchester 100 Club and was president twice.
He was a loving husband and father, and enjoyed many activities
with his family, including travelling, camping, golfing, skating,
skiing and gardening.
Visitation was at Duncan Funeral Home, Metcalfe and funeral service
was held in St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Ottawa. Interment
was at Maple Ridge Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Lyall Holmes, John Cinnamon, Gerry Wicks, Leo
Downey, Keith Magladry and Ralph Morrice. Honorary pallbearers
were Doug Alexander, Vince Cargill, John Paul, Harry Wilson, Danny
Triandiafdillou and Arnie Weppler.
