Rhonda Kinnear-Hoftyzer
Rhonda Kinnear-Hoftyzer of Pendleton passed
away unexpectedly on Dec. 14, 2002. She was born on Nov. 30, 1976.
She was the wife of Stuart Hoftyzer, whom she married on Sept.
21, 2002.
She graduated from Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute. She also
graduated from St. Lawrence College as an animal care technician
and from Kemptville College, University of Guelph, in food and
nutrition management. It was while attending Kemptville College
that she met Stuart, who was also a Kemptville graduate. She was
a respected dietary aide at the Maxville Manor, and owner of Rhondale
Jerseys. Her loves were Stuart, Jerseys and making chocolates.
She was an active member of the Maxville Curling Club and a member
of Jersey Canada. She had the opportunity to represent the Jersey
Association as Jersey Princess, Jersey Ambassador for the Royal
Agriculture Winter Fair, and youth exchange delegate. Titan Basketball
and 4-H were also highlights of her short life. She will be sadly
missed by her husband Stuart, parents Don and Isabel (Blair) Kinnear,
her brother Blair (Julie Proulx) and Stuart's family: Bill and
Jo-Anne, Eileen, Kathryn and Philip Hoftyzer.
She was treasured by two special grandmothers, Eunice Hill (Guy
Smith) of Pendleton and Joan Zandbergen of Brinston. She will
be fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and
college classmates.
Funeral services were held at Munro and Morris Funeral Home in
Maxville and at the Christian Reformed Church in Williamsburg
on Dec. 18, with Rev. George Rowaan officiating and Rev. Gail
Christie reading Scripture. Pallbearers were Blair Kinnear and
Julie Proulx of Aurora, Dan VanGilst and Dan Schuler of Chesterville,
Connie Barton of Vankleek Hill and Mike Visser of Owen Sound.
Special music was provided by Trevor Baker, Fred and Mattie Zandbergen,
Pam DeJong and Heather Douma. Hilda Wylie of Kanata spoke about
Rhonda's life and reminded everyone: "Just one memory brings
back the beauty of wonderful moments shared."
