Donald William MacDonald
Donald William MacDonald of Mountain passed away at the Kemptville
District Hospital on Wed., July 10, 2002. He was 60 years old.
Mr. MacDonald was born in Middleton, Nova Scotia on Nov. 24, 1941,
the son of the late Donald Roy MacDonald and Virginia Clayton
of Truro, Nova Scotia. He met Patricia Wright in high school in
Onslow, Nova Scotia and they were married on Dec. 2, 1961 in Valley
Station United Church Manse. In 1962, Mr. MacDonald graduated
with a diploma from Nova Scotia Agricultural College, and in 1964
he graduated with a B.Sc. in agriculture from MacDonald College
of McGill University. In 1965 they moved to Kemptville where Mr.
MacDonald began working for Kemptville College in the Engineering
Department, the Chemistry and Soils Department and then Agronomy
as a lecturer and researcher. He retired from the college in 1996.
Mr. MacDonald is survived by his beloved wife Patricia, sons Mike
(Marija), Glenn (Lori) and Brad (Julie), and five grandchildren.
He is also survived by brothers Wayne and Ian, and sister Marilyn.
A family gathering will take place at a later date and family
and friends wishing to remember Mr. MacDonald are asked to do
so by contributing to cancer research, Kemptville District Hospital
or a charity of their choice. Funeral arrangements were under
the care and direction of the Grant Brown Funeral Home Rolston
Chapel, Kemptville.
