Bertha McIntosh
Bertha McIntosh of Hartford Home,
Morrisburg, a lifetime resident of the Williamsburg area, died
on Sun., Sept. 1, 2002 at her residence following a lengthy illness.
She was 90.
She was the loving mother of Norma (Richard) Sharkey of Chesterville.
Dear sister of James Sargent of RR 2 Chesterville. Loving grandmother
of Andrea Sharkey. Sister-in-law of Wilfred (Pearl) McIntosh of
Williamsburg and Jessie (Ted) Beckstead of Cardinal. Also survived
by nieces and nephews.
She was the beloved wife of the late Aden McIntosh, whom she married
on June 24, 1939 in Williamsburg. She was born on Nov. 4, 1911
to the late Henry and Ellen Sargent (nee Dillabough).
In her earlier years, as a busy dairy farmer's wife, Mrs. McIntosh
still found time for making quilt patterns, preserving and tending
to her many African violets. Later, she found enjoyment in researching
and recording family history and maintaining scrapbooks of local
events.
She was a member of the Williamsburg United Church. Donations
to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Williamsburg United Church
or the Hartford Home would be appreciated by the family.
Funeral service was held at Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home,
Williamsburg on Wed., Sept. 4 with Rev. Sandy Macpherson officiating.
Interment at Sprucehaven Cemetery, Brinston.
Pallbearers were Steven Byvelds, Gordon Garlough, Donald Garlough,
Allan Harriman, Carman McIntosh and Harold Coughler.
