Margaret Freda Skuffham
Margaret Freda "Susie" Skuffham (nee
Gauley) celebrated her 88th birthday on April 14 with grace and
joy. She died in her sleep the night of April 15, 2002 at the
Hartford Retirement Centre, Morrisburg.
She is predeceased by her husband, Jack Clifford Skuffham, who
loved her dearly. She leaves her son Bob and daughter-in-law Dianne
of Windsor, N.S.; daughter Betty of Toronto; granddaughter Jennifer
and her husband Darren of Wolfville, N.S.; brother Jim Gauley
of Grenville, Q.C. She will also be missed by nieces, nephews
and many friends, all of who were privileged to enjoy the happiness
and optimism with which she viewed life.
She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas Edwin Gauley and Alice
Lillian O'Brien.
Mrs. Skuffham was active in church and community affairs when
she lived in Quebec and the Maritimes. She was a very creative
woman and, with her husband Jack, crafted beautiful sterling silver
jewellery which was much admired. She was a supportive and loving
wife and an exceptional mother.
Funeral service was held at St. James Anglican Church, Morrisburg
on Sat., April 20 with Rev. Bill Byers officiating. Interment
at St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery, Long Sault.
Pallbearers were Michael Gwynne, Ian Gwynne, Brennan Brazeau,
Don Brazeau, Brian Skuffham, Arthur Gauley, Rick Pienta and Tim
Pienta.
