Grace Strader
Grace Strader died on Sept. 30, 2002 at Winchester
District Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was
94.
She was the wife of Dwight Strader who died in 1957. Daughter
of the late Sarah (nee Loughridge) and Bruce McIntosh, she was
born in Morewood on Dec. 27, 1907 and was a resident of the Dundela
area all her life.
Mrs. Strader is survived by children Ken of Morrisburg, Edna Disheau
(Arthur Jackson) of Toronto, Jean Jensen of Brockville, Lorna
(Ernie) Lascelle of Inkerman, Anna Casselman (Rene Nicolier) of
Morrisburg and Willie (Audrey Barker) of Cardinal.
She was predeceased by daughter Margaret Barkley, sons Glen and
John, grandson Robert Whitteker and brothers Keith and Hartley
McIntosh.
Mrs. Strader will be fondly remembered by 22 grandchildren, several
great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She is
also survived by nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and quilting. She was a dedicated
member of the Dundela United Church. She was a member of the Matilda
Women's Institute.
Friends called at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Williamsburg
on Oct. 2. The funeral was on Oct. 3, officiated by Yvonne Willis.
Interment was at Dundela Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Scott Strader, Dean Barkley, Allan Disheau, David
Disheau, Almon Whitteker and Tony Barkley. Honorary pallbearers
were Leslie Irwin, Angie Mackler, Shelley Strader, Heather Malyon,
Cindy Murphy, Penny Strader and Tanya Disheau.
Donations to Winchester District Memorial Hospital would be appreciated
by the family.
