Lenora Ruth Barkley
Lenora Ruth Barkley of Spencerville died on May
19, 2003 at Winchester District Memorial Hospital. She was 74.
She is survived by husband Bruce Milton Barkley, whom she married
on June 27, 1953. She was a housewife and homemaker, and worked
at the IGA grocery store in Winchester.
She was a former resident of Inkerman. She was a member of the
Inkerman Wesleyan Church, where she was organist for 50 years.
Mrs. Barkley was born in Edmonton on April 12, 1929 to Cora Elizabeth
Pearl (nee Smith) and the late Rev. Willis Mack. She will be remembered
by children Linda (Elwyn) Millar, Terry Barkley, and Greg (Cheryl)
Barkley. She was Nana to grandchildren Kathy, Daryl, Tyler and
Shawn Millar; and Brittany, Bradley and Nicholas Barkley.
She was sister of Russell (Joan) Mack, Gordon (Maxine) Mack, Norma
(Ray) McFadden, Ron (Fran) Mack and Rev. Larry Mack (Carolyn).
The funeral was held at the Inkerman Wesleyan Church on May 22,
with Rev. Anita Goulet officiating. Funeral arrangements were
entrusted to Byers Funeral Home in South Mountain. Interment was
at Knights Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Keith Fawcett, Tom Allison, Keith Last, Carman
Morris, Steve Morris and Maurice Goulet.
