Ramon Casselman
Ramon Casselman of Williamsburg died at home on March 11, 2003. He was 76.
He is survived by wife Barbara Casselman (nee Hess), whom he married on May 3, 1952 at Williamsburg United Church.
He was born in Williamsburg on July 31, 1926 to the late Alfred "Keno" Casselman and Alice (nee Empey). The lifetime resident of Williamsburg owned and operated Instant Water Wells for many years. He was an honorary life member of the Williamsburg Fire Department, having been one of its original members.
He is survived by children Karen Casselman of Ottawa, and Pam (Doug) French of Williamsburg. Surviving siblings are Norma (Bert) McIntosh of Williamsburg, and Moyra Workman of Ault Island.
Mr. Casselman was loving Poppy of Cameron and Colin French. He is also survived by aunt Hilda Shaver of Cornwall, and several nieces and nephews.
His love of the outdoors was an extremely important aspect of his life, whether it was on the Rideau River, the Hoasic Creek, fishing and hunting at Lake Dumont, or just walking through the bush. His love of his family and community, however, were his number-one priority.
Friends called at Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Williamsburg on March 13. The funeral was at the Williamsburg United Church on March 14 with Rev. Sandy Macpherson officiating. Interment of cremated remains was at Maple Ridge Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gerry McPherson, Gerry Robinson, Carl Barkley and Rex Weegar.
Donations to the Lung Association or Winchester District memorial Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
