Cliff Cheney
Cliff Cheney of Iroquois died on
July 1, 2003 following a sudden illness. He was 57.
He is survived by wife Sandra (nee Lannin), whom he married on
April 13, 1968 at Winchester United Church.
He was born in Winchester Township on April 28, 1946 to the late
James Cheney and Maisie Smirle (nee Bilow).
He drove for Allison and Sons Transport in Winchester Springs
for many years. The was a lifetime resident of the area. He was
a member of Morewood United Church. He loved to fish and thoroughly
enjoyed his job as a truck driver.
He will be remembered by children Chato (Cherie) of Cornwall and
Chelan (Kevin) Colwill of Winchester. He is survived by siblings
Doug (Edna) Cheney of Inkerman and Loralee Carruthers of Morewood.
He will be fondly remembered by granddaughter Danika. He was the
beloved stepson of the late Walter Smirle. He is also survived
by nieces and nephews.
Friends called at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home on July
8. The funeral was held at the funeral home on July 9 with Rev.
Bob Williams officiating. Interment was at Morewood United Church
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Doug Cheney, David Berry, Brian Lannin and Trevor
Carruthers. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Winchester
District Memorial Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
