Donald Robert Cinnamon
Donald Robert Cinnamon passed away
peacefully with his family at his side on July 9, 2003 at Dundas
Manor in Winchester. He was 74.
He was the dear husband of Norma (nee Guy) for 57 years. He was
predeceased by parent Henry and Rose Emma (nee Cowan), and son
Lyle Kenneth.
He was the loving father of Nelda (Dalton) Gow, Donna (David)
Byers, James (Brenda), Linda (Tom) Sirvage and Glenn (Susie).
He will be sadly missed by 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren,
as well as many friends and relatives.
He attended school at Ormond, farming on the family homestead
at Harmony Corners where he was born and raised. He worked for
Docksteaders, servicing furnaces before opening his own furnace
company. He later drove a school bus for Carl and Glen Docksteader,
driving children to Osgoode High School for over 20 years.
He and Norma enjoyed camping, and for over 18 years camped at
Sandy Mountain Campsite.
Family and friends called at the Winchester Funeral Home on July
13. The funeral service was held in the chapel of the funeral
home on July 14 with Rev. Bruce North officiating. The eulogy
was given by son Glenn Cinnamon. Cremation followed, with inurnment
at the Ormond Cemetery.
The pallbearers were grandsons Kevin and Kenneth Byers, Christopher
and Mark Cinnamon, Peter Garlough, and Joshua Cinnamon. Honorary
pallbearers were Jacob and Jordan Cinnamon and Samuel Cardinal.
