Lorraine Cummings
Lorraine Cummings of Morrisburg died following a brief illness on June 29, 2003 at Winchester District Memorial Hospital. She was 65.
She was born in Morrisburg on July 18, 1937 to the late George LaPierre and Flossie (nee Millward). She was a lifetime resident of the village. She married the late Sheridan "Bud" Cummings in Morrisburg on May 4, 1957.
She will be remembered by children Sheridan "Danny" (Ziba) of Kanata, Cindy (Mike) Casselman of Williamsburg, Monty (Becky) of Temagami, and Stuart (Cindy) of Cornwall. She will also be missed by sisters Shirley (Harold) O'Shaughnessy of Owen Sound and Karen Holmden (Elwin Woolsey) of Morrisburg. She was predeceased by infant daughter Bonnie.
She will be cherished and missed by grandchildren Daniel, Jennifer, and Shidan Cummings; Ryan, Sheena and Kaitlin "Katie" Casselman; Eric and Hillary Cummings; and Timothy, Shawn and Tiffany Cummings. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Cummings served as a volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards with friends and spending time with her family.
Friends called at Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Williamsburg on July 1 and 2. The funeral was held at the funeral home on July 3 with Rev. Pat Martin officiating. Interment was at New Union Cemetery in Williamsburg.
Pallbearers were Ryan Casselman, Timothy Cummings, Daniel Cummings, Sheena Casselman and Eric Cummings.
Donations to the Lung Association or Winchester District Memorial Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
