Audrey Muriel Durant
Audrey Muriel Durant of Chesterville died at home on Dec. 28, 2003. She was 79.
She is survived by husband Doug Durant, whom she married in Crysler on Oct. 12, 1946.
She was born in Finch on Dec. 19, 1924 to the late Frank Carruthers and Nelda (nee Presley).
She is survived by son Keith (Lynn); and grandchildren Courtney, Evan and Justin. She was aunt of Ruth (Wayne) Pollock. She is also survived by sister in-law Gladys Carruthers of Crysler.
Mrs. Durant was predeceased by daughter Carol, by brother Delburn Carruthers, and by nephew Hugh Carruthers.
She worked as a registered nurse at Cornwall General Hospital and Winchester District Memorial Hospital. She attended nursing school in Cornwall. She worked as a farmer and housewife.
She was a member of the Morrisburg Chapter #83, Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of Trinity United Church.
The funeral was held at Byers Funeral Home in the chapel on Dec. 30, officiated by Rev. Mary Lou Shortill. Interment was at Maple Ridge Cemetery.
The pallbearers were Wayne Pollock, Kevin Darling, Stan McBain and Lyle Byers.
