Morley John W. Erratt
Morley John William Erratt of Cardinal died at
Brockville General Hospital on Nov. 12, 2003 after experiencing
declining health during the previous year. He was 84.
He is survived by wife Grace Scott, whom he married on June 28,
1947 in Winchester.
He was born in Winchester on Sept. 4, 1919 to the late John Erratt
and Christena (nee Dickson).
He worked as a farmer. He had lived at his former residence for
the previous 27 years. He identified with St. John's United Church.
He will be remembered by children Lynda (George) Lafleche of Long
Sault, Judy Erratt (Harold Jarrell) of Ottawa, and Scott (Lorilee)
of Chesterville.
He is survived by sister Blanche Fulton of Hulbert and sister-in-law
Doris Erratt of Morrisburg. He was predeceased by siblings Gerald,
and Evelyn Wells.
He will be remembered by grandchildren Brandon, Amber, David and
Amanda, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He farmed north of Winchester at the Melvin Settlement. At Upper
Canada Village he worked as an interpreter and drove the miniature
train at the park.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Marsden McLaughlin Funeral
Home in Cardinal. The funeral was at the funeral home on Nov.
15 with Arlyce Schiebout officiating. Interment was at Maple Ridge
Cemetery in Chesterville.
Pallbearers were Jim Borrett, Ron Gilmer, Ed Orzel, George Ennis,
Lester Robinson and Gordon Stewart.
Donations to the Heart and Stroke Society, the Canadian Cancer
Society or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated
by the family.
