Adrianna Geerts
Peacefully in hospital with family by her side, on Dec. 2, 2003, Adriana Geerts (VanOpstal) of Metcalfe passed away in her 91st year. She was the beloved wife of the late John Geerts. She was the dear mother of Casey (Claudette), Anne (Gilles Tardif), Mary Blanchard (William R. Waddell), Joanne (Richard Lafrance), José (Douglas Poole), and Henry (Donna). She was loving grandma and Oma of 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She is survived by one sister, Anna Leemans of Holland, sister-in-law Theresa VanDongen-Rutters of Chesterville, and many other relatives in Canada and Holland. She was predeceased by son-in-law Gaetan Blanchard.
Family and friends called at the Duncan Funeral Home on Bank Street on Dec. 3. The funeral was held at St. Catherine of Sienna Church in Metcalfe on Dec. 4. Pallbearers were grandchildren Suzanne Blanchard, Paul Geerts, Michel Geerts, Steven Lafrance, David Poole, and Julie Tardif-Roach.
