Eileen Pemberton
Eileen Pemberton of Winchester
Springs died on June 17, 2003 at Winchester District Memorial
Hospital, following a brief illness. She was 93.
A lifetime resident of the area, she was born in Chesterville
on Nov. 1, 1909 to the late Harvey Merkley and Lutheria (nee Munroe).
She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Dunbar.
She married Floyd Pemberton in Williamsburg on Sept. 15, 1926.
She will be remembered by children Graham of Winchester; Dale
of Winchester Springs; Carl of Elma; Lorne of Winchester; Con
of Inkerman; Sharel Bell of Tathra, Australia; and Sharon Moss
of Chesterville.
Mrs. Pemberton will be fondly remembered by 14 grandchildren,
13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is
also survived by sister-in-law Gwyneth Pemberton of Williamsburg,
and nieces and nephews.
She lived the previous seven years at her home in Winchester Springs.
She enjoyed reading, baking and making homemade quilts and rugs.
Friends called at Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Williamsburg
on June 19. The funeral was the same day, officiated by Rev. Mark
Ehlebracht. Interment was at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Chesterville.
Pallbearers were Adam Moss, Kevin Bell, Greg Bell, Barry Bell,
Dwayne Pemberton, Basil Pemberton and Chris Pemberton.
