Hazel May Robinson
Hazel May Robinson of Williamsburg
died at her home on July 6, 2003 following a sudden illness. She
was 84.
She was born in Elma on April 18, 1919, to the late Edgar Robinson
and Bessie (nee McMillan). She was raised in Elma. She was a member
of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
After finishing high school, she moved to Ottawa where she worked
for one year at Metropolitan Life Insurance. She then began her
career with the federal government and worked in the House of
Commons for over 40 years. After retiring at the age of 62, she
remained in Ottawa until 1994, when she moved to her apartment
in Williamsburg.
She will be remembered by siblings Pearl (Wilfred) McIntosh of
Williamsburg, Lois Casselman of Elma, and Doug (Evelyn) Robinson
of Elma.
She is survived by nephew Donald Robinson of Elma; and nieces
Ruth (Brian) Turner of Barrie, Ann (Stan) Moore of Cardinal, and
Marjorie Servage of Elma. She will also be remembered by great-niece
Donna Pharand of Elma, great-great-niece Jessica, and great-great-nephews
Marc and Ryan. She was the dear friend of Evelyn Whitteker and
Joyce Patterson, both of Williamsburg.
A private graveside service was held at Elma Cemetery on July
15, with Rev. Mark Ehlebracht officiating. Arrangements were entrusted
to the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Donations
to St. Peter's Lutheran Church would be appreciated by the family.
