Dwayne Servage
Dwayne "Cannonball" Servage died suddenly
at home on May 3, 2003. He was 68.
He was born on Feb. 23, 1935 in Winchester Township to the late
Lloyd and Della Servage (nee Barkley), and he lived the majority
of his adult life in Elma. He was a retired mechanic who had worked
at Nestlé's in Chesterville for over 43 years. He was an
avid gardener who took great pride in his work. He spent many
hours tending to the 1,500 trees he and his family had planted
after the ice storm in 1998. He enjoyed fishing and watching sports.
He is survived by his loving wife Janet Servage (nee Merkley)
whom he married on Oct. 6, 1956 in Merrickville, and his children
Marion (Jim) Feeley of Russell, Lyle (Connie) of Elma, Donald
"Duke" of Elma, and Sharon (David) Lepage of Monkland.
He will be fondly remembered by grandchildren Bill, Jennifer,
Melissa, Emily, Stephanie, John, Joshua and Katey. He was predeceased
by grandson Justin, brother Ernie, and sisters Evelyn Servage,
Audrey McMillan and Pearl Manhard. He is also survived by many
nieces and nephews.
Friends called at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Williamsburg
on May 5 and 6. The funeral service was held at the funeral home
on May 6, with Rev. Jean Udall officiating. Interment followed
at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Chesterville. Afterwards, a light lunch
was served at the Dunbar Recreation Centre.
Pallbearers were Glendon Shay, Barry Elliott, Wayne Dillabough,
Greg Beckstead, Gary McCadden and Pat Imrie. Honorary pallbearers
were Richard McMillan, Jack Casselman, Bert Beckstead and Ray
Dillabough.
Donations to the Heart and Stroke Society or the Winchester District
Memorial Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
