Mary Thelma Sommerville
Mary Thelma Sommerville of Winchester passed away after a brief but courageous battle with cancer at the Janet MacDonnel Pavilion in Cornwall on Dec. 22, 2003. She was 75.
She was born in Cornwall on Dec. 28, 1927 to the late Arthur Baker and Harriet (nee Tabram).
She was loving mother of Jamie (Arlene) of Winchester, Chris (Cathey) of Chesterville, Jennifer (John Deschamps) of CorAÝ)ÝŦ Iroquois an¿¿lie of Ottawa.
She was cherished grandmother of Katie, Sean, Andrew, Caroline, Jonah, Olivia, Liam, Taegan, Becky and Gracie.
She was dear sister to Stewart (Audrey) Baker, Doug (Helen) Baker, Bev (Rheal St. Jean), Maureen Guitard, Sharon (the late Don Mullin), the late Ronald Baker, Mike (Betty Anne) Baker, and the late Gary Baker.
She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, neighbors and friends.
The visitation was held at the Chesterville Funeral Home on Dec. 23. The funeral service took place at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church on Dec. 24 with Father John Gillis officiating. The pallbearers were Stephen Mullin, Stuart Mullin, Kevin Baker, Ricky St. Jean, Ray Shannon, and Jim Cafferty. Cremation followed the service. There will be an inurnment at St. Mary's Cemetery in Chesterville in the spring.
Donations to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Canadian Cancer Society would be grateful acknowledged by the family.
