Adriana "Jane" Streng
Adriana "Jane" Streng of Winchester
passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, at Kemptville
District Hospital on Jan. 3, 2003. She was 92.
She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard Q. Streng. She was
born on Sept. 29, 1911 in Holland to father Anthony Van Rhyn and
mother Maria (nee Olshoorn).
She was the cherished mother of Leonard (Lisa) of Winchester,
Tony (Rikie) of Kemptville, Corrie (Barry Jackson) of Jellicoe,
Mary (Malcolm Lahaise) of Lanark, Jane (Marcel Benoit) of Calabogie,
John (Thea) of Nepean, Jack (Sue) of Metcalfe, Leona (Ray Murphy)
of Bonnyville, Alberta, the late Beth (Harry Lajeunesse) of Kanata,
and late infant son Gerard.
She was the proud and devoted grandmother of the late Leo, John
(Lyn), Linda (Steve Simzer), Pete (Tess), Gary, and Bill (Kelly)
Streng; Debbie (Mike Faubert), Bill, Wendy (Jim Wells), and Mike
Streng; Barry, Leon, Robert and Trevor Jackson; Jeff, Greg, Janet,
John (Sheri), Kim, and Deanna (Robert Runge) Lahaise; Andrea (Costas
Constantakis), and Daniel Benoit; Gregory (Stacey), the late Jason,
and Christine Streng; Jeremy, and Tim Streng; Erin, Ryan, Avery,
and Lisa Murphy; and Julie (Dan Sarrell), Jamie and Christopher
Lajeunesse.
Mrs. Streng was the loving great-grandmother of Kristi, Steven,
Derek, the late Jennifer, Kaitlyn, Samantha, Devin, Cole, Noah,
the late Sierra, Whitnie, Sarah, Hannah, Joshua, Tayler, Dylan,
Spencer, and Adriana.
Friends paid their respects at the Chesterville Funeral Home on
Jan. 6. The funeral service took place at St. Mary's Roman Catholic
Church on Jan. 7, officiated by Father John Gillis.
The pallbearers were John Streng, Mike Streng, Barry Jackson,
Dan Benoit, John Lahaise, Jamie Lajeunesse, Jeremy Streng, Greg
Streng and Ryan Murphy. Burial will take place in the spring at
St. Mary's Cemetery in Chesterville.
