Howard Ernest Summers
Howard Ernest Summers passed away May 18, 2003 at the age of 83 at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Olive (Guy); three daughters Elaine and Darlene, Ottawa, Ardith (John) Adams, and grandsons Scott and Craig Adams, Mountain. He will be fondly remembered by his brother David (Doreen), Winchester, sisters Gwendolyn Saunders, Osgoode and Iris Harper, Cornwall, and many relatives and friends.
Howard was born in Winchester Township to the late Earnest R. Summers and his wife Isabella Morrison Wren. Most of Howard's life was spent working in the family business, Summers Insurance Brokers Inc. He retired to a life of golfing, curling and cottage and was a members of Henderson Lodge No. 383 for 43 years.
Friends and relatives visited at Byers Funeral Home, South Mountain, May 20 where funeral service was held May 21 with Rev. A.J. MacDonald officiating. Honorary pallbearers were his grandsons. Interment at Maple Ridge Cemetery.
