Scott Van't Foort
Scott Van't Foort of Brinston died
in a motor vehicle accident on Jan. 19, 2003. He was 17.
He is survived by his parents, Harry Van't Foort and Iena (nee
Hoftyzer). He was born on Feb. 5, 1985 in Winchester. He lived
with his family in the Chesterville area until they moved to Brinston
in 1989.
He was a student at Seaway District High School where he participated
in many school activities including student council. He was a
member of St. James Anglican Church in Morrisburg where he was
active in the church youth group.
He is survived by siblings Gregory and Julie, both at home. He
was predeceased by grandparents Johanna and Bert Hoftyzer, and
special aunt Joanne Van't Foort.
He was maternal grandson of Mae and Hank Vanderhoning of Nova
Scotia, and paternal grandson of Gerrit and Maatje Van't Foort
of Chesterville.
He was a very special friend of Samantha Boone. He will be deeply
missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He had planned to pursue classical studies in history and languages
at the post-secondary level. He loved to read and share his thoughts
and feelings with those around him, both verbally and on paper.
His Christian faith was very important to him and this was lovingly
demonstrated to all.
Friends called at Community Christian Church on Jan. 21. The funeral
was at St. James Anglican Church on Jan. 22, officiated by Rev.
Bill Byers, Rev. Pat Martin and Rev. Clarence Witten. Interment
was at Spruce Haven Cemetery in Brinston.
Pallbearers were Julian Pietersma, J.J. Hollister, Jeremy Schnurr,
Justin Van't Foort, Chris Marshall, Sean Marshall, David Hamilton,
Warren Schneckenburger and Frankie Buwalda.
