Emerson Carr
Emerson Carr of Winchester died on May 16, 2004
at Dundas Manor Nursing Home. He was 89.
He is survived by his wife Irene (nee Livingston), whom he married
on July 29, 1936 at the Williamsburg United Church Manse. He is
also survived by his children Baden (Christine) Carr of Brockville,
Sheila (Alan) Crowder of Boucks Hill, Sharon Roworth of Prescott,
Sandra (Bill) Casselman of Napanee, and Faye (Dean) McCurdy of
Iroquois.
He will be fondly remembered by 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren,
and one great-great-grandson. He was very fond and proud of them
all.
He is survived by sister Audrey Moke of Morrisburg, and brother
Francis (June) Carr of Ottawa. He will be remembered by his nieces
and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Dwain and Ralph.
A lifetime resident of the area, he was born to the late Carrie
(nee Merkley) and William Carr on May 9, 1915. He made his living
as a farmer and a carpenter. He loved hunting and fishing and
being outdoors, and was very fond of his cat after he retired.
Friends called at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Williamsburg
on May 18. The funeral was held at the funeral home on May 19
with Rev. Doug Carnegie officiating. Interment was at Grantley
Cemetery. The pallbearers were Doug Disheau, Debbie Disheau, Scott
Casselman, Larry McCurdy, John Giles, and Cindy Emery.
Donations to the Winchester District Memorial Hospital would be
appreciated by the family.
