Ivan R. Casselman
Ivan R. Casselman of Williamsburg died following
a brief illness on Jan. 14, 2004 at Winchester District Memorial
Hospital. He was 93.
He is survived by wife Dorothy (nee Millward), whom he married
on Sept., 26, 1942 at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Riverside
Heights.
He was born in Williamsburg on Dec. 26, 1910 to the late John
Casselman and Martha (nee Whitteker). He was a lifetime resident
of the area.
He is survived by children Carole (David) Bryan of Marrietta,
Georgia; Margaret (Steve) Fraser of Ottawa; Brian (Lorraine) of
Cornwall; Linda (Gerry) Langstaff of Kingston; Dale (Denise Allard)
of Montreal; and Janet (Mike) Bronner of Apple Hill.
He is survived by sister Agnes Casselman of Morrisburg, and was
predeceased by sister Nina Casselman. He was dear grandfather
of Christopher, Jennifer, Joanne, Julie, and Karrah; and great-grandfather
of Aidan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was a gentleman in the true sense. A patient mentor and friend
to many, may he rest in peace and harmony as he did in life. He
attended St. James Anglican Church in Morrisburg.
Friends called at Marsden and Mclaughlin Funeral Home in Williamsburg
on Jan. 16 and 17. The funeral was held at the funeral home on
Jan. 17 with Rev. Paul Millward and Rev. Bill Byers officiating.
Interment of created remains will be at St. Lawrence Valley Union
Cemetery in Long Sault.
Pallbearers were Mike Bronner, Stefan Demers, John DeVries, Donnie
Wells, Jerry Byvelds and Lyle Beckstead.
Donations to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute would be
appreciated by the family.
