Glenn MacGregor
Glenn MacGregor passed away at
the Winchester District Memorial Hospital on Oct. 16, 2004. He
was 85.
He was born on May 23, 1919, in Winchester Township to the late
George and Jennie.
He is survived by his nephew George (Linda) MacGregor and his
niece Lynn (Michael Ridley). He was great-uncle to Jane and Sarah
Ridley and Colin and Ian MacGregor. He was predeceased by his
sister Marjorie and brother Donald.
Glenn was a long-time clerk of Winchester Township, secretary
of Winchester Public School Board, and secretary-treasurer of
the Morewood United Church. A lifelong resident of the Morewood
area and an RCAF veteran, he was also a hard-nosed hockey, baseball
and tennis player in his youth. He later became an avid curler.
He was a member of the Oddfellows and the Royal Canadian Legion,
Branch #434. He will be missed by his many friends in the area
and by the residents of the Hartford Retirement Home in Morrisburg.
A memorial visitation was held at the Chesterville Funeral Home
on Oct. 19. A memorial service will be held at the Morewood United
Church on Oct. 20 at 11 am with Mrs. Rietta Hillis officiating.
Inurnment will follow at the Morewood Presbyterian Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Winchester District Memorial
Hospital would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
