Dorothy Lillian MacPherson
Dorothy Lillian MacPherson, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, died peacefully in hospital in Winchester surrounded by the love of her family on May 22, 2004.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Ralph; daughter Joyce (Rob) Preston; and brothers George, Frank and Lloyd Fanning. She was born in 1909. She was the much loved mother of Mary (Blake) Taylor and mother-in-law of Robert (Joan) Preston. She was loving nana of Paul Preston, Sheri (Bob) Francis, Bryan (Cathy) Fetterly, Dawn (Brain) Hutt and Mark (Andrea) Fetterly.
She was proud nana of eight precious great-grandchildren who added much joy to her later life. She was dear sister of Anne Summers; and aunt to Karen (Richard) Traczyk, and many nieces and nephews whom she enjoyed staying in touch with throughout her life.
She will be missed by many friends whose lives she touched in her gentle way. She was a gracious hostess and enjoyed having her family around the dining table often though the years. Many friends enjoyed her warm hospitality and her generous caring ways.
The funeral service was held at Winchester Funeral Home on May 25, followed by cremation. Inurnment was at Maple Ridge Cemetery.
The pallbearers were Bob, Shawn and Sam Francis; Brian Hutt; and Bryan, Dustin and Dylan Fetterly.
