Vera "Ruth"
McConnell (nee McInnis), formerly of Winchester, passed away after
a lengthy illness on Nov. 14, 2004 at the Woodland Villa in Long
Sault. She was 86.
She was born on April 24, 1918 in Matilda Township to the late
Charles William McInnis and Ethel Viola McIntosh. She was predeceased
by husband John Ormond McConnell whom she married on March 31,
1956 in Kingston. She was formerly a payroll keeper and accountant
for Ontario Hydro and the Township of Winchester.
She is survived by her children Bonnie MacGregor (James) and William
(Lisa); grandchildren Christina Clontz (Christopher), Wynne Stevenson
(Andrew) and Shelby McConnell; and great-grandchildren Logan and
Bretton Clontz. She was the sister of Thelma Metcalf (Gord), Mike
McInnis (Isabel) and was predeceased by Erle and Landon. She was
the sister-in-law of Vera McInnis and Elizabeth Marshall.
She was past matron of moonlight Chapter #224, a charter member
of Winchester Chapter #310 OES, and was a life member of Winchester
United Church.
The funeral service will be held at Byers Funeral Home in South
Mountain, on Nov. 17, at 11 am with Pastor Andre Lauzon officiating.
Interment at Maple Ridge Cemetery will follow.
Pallbearers are Tim Fletcher, Mike Bumbaco, Rob Horton, John McConnell,
Steve Gibson and Wayne Burns.
