Ross D. McDiarmid
Ross McDiarmid died peacefully at home in Hallville on May 22, 2004.
He was born on Jan 27, 1914. He was predeceased by his loving wife Elsie Bishop in 1983. He was the dear father of Fred (Janet) of Veteran, Alberta; Bruce (JoAnn) of Desbarats; Ian (Sandra) of Calgary, Alberta; Lyn (Lynn) of Kanata; Janice of Perth, Australia; and Beth (Jim) Hetherington of Hallville.
He will be sadly missed by 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by sister-in-law Irene McDiarmid of Kemptville.
He was predeceased by his sister Norma Hall and brother Jack McDiarmid.
He was a dairy farmer in Dalmeny for many years, then moved to Vernon and worked for Osgoode Township until his retirement. He had recently moved to Hallville.
He was a member of the Osgoode Baptist Church all of his life. He was always quick to tell a joke and hand you a peppermint. He loved to travel and lived life to the fullest.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Duncan Funeral Home, and Rev. Kathy Petrie officiated over the service. Memorial donations to Winchester District Memorial Hospital's Renewing the Vision Campaign would be appreciated by the family.
