Mahlon Orval McIntosh
Mahlon Orval McIntosh of Winchester
passed away Aug. 25, 2004, at the Winchester District Memorial
Hospital. He was 83.
He is survived by his wife Edna (nee Holmes), whom he married
in Finch on June 19, 1943. He was formerly of Winchester Springs
where he was a self-employed farmer, He was also a past employee
in Woolen Mills at Upper Canada Village where he worked for a
number of years. He was a member of the Wesleyan Church. He was
born on Aug. 21, 1921, in Winchester Springs to the late Garfield
Orval McIntosh and Viola Margaret Strader.
He is survived by his sisters Helen Baldwin (the late Ken), Nina
Pemberton (Carl) and predeceased by Pauline Fowler (the late Jim
Durant and Bob Fowler) and Ola Froats (the late Cecil). He was
the brother-in-law of Ray (Elsie) Holmes, Ida (Don) Fulsom, Vivian
(Ken) Schultz, Helen Spearman (the late Ira), Hazel Holmes (the
late Stan), Howard Kennedy (the late Doris). He is predeceased
by Lillian (George) Quart. He will be remembered by many nieces
and nephews.
The funeral was held in the Chapel of Byers Funeral Home, Aug.
27, with Pastor Thurland Brown officiating. Interment was at Maple
Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers were nephews Richard Quart, and Reg
Kennedy; Glen Liscumb, Warren Jackson, Herman DeVries and Al Hutchinson.
