Shirley Elizabeth Mills
Shirley Elizabeth Mills (nee Hartley) of RR2 Mountain (Inkerman Station) passed away at her residence on Nov. 28, 2004. She was 69.
She was the wife of the late Bruce Mills, whom she married on Nov. 14, 1959 in Toronto. He passed away on June 29, 2002. She was the dear mother David (Daphne) of Vancouver, Kevin of San Antonio, Texas, and Jennifer Winter (Tim) of Lyn. She was predeceased by son Colin. She was grandmother to Nathan, Jamie, Duncan and Alex. She is survived by her brother Cliff Hartley (Anne), She was the sister-in-law of Grant (Betty), Brian (Diane) and Elizabeth Mills (late George). She was aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She was born on Feb. 5, 1935 in Burnley Lanceshire, England to the late Herbert Hartley and the late Catherine Munro. She graduated as a Library Technician from Algonquin College and was employed as a librarian at the Metcalfe Public Library. She was a member of the United Church in Inkerman.
The funeral service was held in the chapel of the Byers Funeral Home in South Mountain, on Dec. 2, 2004, with Rev. Blair Paterson officiating. Interment followed at Knights Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tim Winter, Grant Mills, Brian Mills, Cal Hartley, Ian Hartley and Steve Hartley.
