Audrey Jean Moke
Audrey Jean Moke died suddenly at Winchester District
Memorial Hospital on Sept. 1, 2004. She was 91.
She was born in Williamsburg on June 14, 1913 to the late William
Carr and Carrie Belle (nee Merkley). She was predeceased by husband
John Wesley Moke whom she married in Williamsburg in March 1932.
For the previous three years she lived at the Hartford Retirement
Home in Morrisburg. She worked as a homemaker. She formerly lived
in Iroquois. She was a member of the Knox Church Ladies, the Iroquois
Women's Institute and the Iroquois Seniors' Group. She identified
with the Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by children Lois McCadden of Chesterville and
Shirley M. Dillabough of Brockville. She is survived by her brother
Francis Carr and by sister-in-law Irene Carr (Emerson), nine grandchildren,
16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She
was predeceased by brothers Dwain, Ralph and Emerson.
Friends called at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Iroquois
on Sept. 3. A memorial service was held at the funeral home on
the same day officiated by Rev. Doug Carnegie. Interment of cremated
remains was at Memorial Hill Cemetery in Lunenburg. Donations
to Winchester District Memorial Hospital would be appeciated by
the family.
