William Arthur Moorhouse
William Arthur Moorhouse of Bayfield
Manor, passed away at the Kemptville District Hospital on Sept.
29, 2004. He was 94.
He was predeceased by his wife Vera Blanche Adelaide Baker whom
he married on July 14, 1934, at Carley's Corners. He was born
on March 6, 1910, in Merrickville to the late William John Moorhouse
and the late Grace Evelyn Earl.
He is survived by children Donald (Helen), Muriel Milne (Oscar)
and Allan (Mary Ellen). He was grandfather of eight grandchildren
and 10 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his siblings
Edna Wilson, Laura Moorhouse and Harry Moorhouse. He is survived
by brothers-in-law Carl Bryan and Harold Baker (Phyllis). He was
the uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He was a former resident of Winchester and Mountain. He was a
farmer and a past employee in maintenance at the Winchester District
Memorial Hospital. He was a member and elder of the Mountain United
Church and a choir member of the Mountain and Winchester United
Church.
The funeral was held at the Byers Funeral Home Chapel on Oct.
1, with Rev. Blair Paterson officiating. Eulogies were given by
Wanda (Milne) McPake and Allan Moorhouse. Interment followed at
South Gower Cemetery. Pallbearers were Evan Moorhouse, Dale Moorhouse,
Neil Moorhouse, Barry Moorhouse, Gregory Moorhouse, Steven Milne,
and Gary Milne.
