Lela Robinson
Lela Robinson passed away peacefully at Dundas
Manor in Winchester on Jan. 6, 2004. She was 93.
She was loving wife of the late Dalton R. Robinson. She was dear
mother of Lyle (late Betty) Robinson of Winchester, Lillian (Howard)
Moore of Winchester, Lester (Grace) Robinson of Winchester, and
Stella (Arnold) Haystead of Ingelside.
She was mother-in-law of Ileen Robinson; and sister of Victor
(Myrtle) Johnston of Chesterville, and Ruby (Weldon) Lancaster
of Winchester.
She was sister-in-law to Willow Johnston, Myrna Cinnamon, Delbert
(Joan) Robinson, and Christina (Donald) Cumming. She will be fondly
remembered by 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and three
great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by parents James R. Johnston and Ethel (nee
Jameison); sons Alan Robinson and Reuben Robinson; brother Roy
Johnston; and grandson Shawn Haystead.
She was a member of the Melvinsettlement Hospital Auxiliary. She
was a farmer's wife who loved to quilt for her family and for
the Red Cross during the war.
The funeral service was held in the chapel of the Winchester Funeral
Home on Jan. 10. Interment took place at the Maple Ridge Cemetery.
Pallbearers were grandsons Glendon, Larry and Keith Moore; Robin
and Kevin Haystead; and neighbor Peter Verspeek.
Memorial donations to the Dundas Manor, Winchester District Memorial
Hospital or the Winchester United Church would be greatly acknowledged
by the family.
