Lila Bell Barkley
Lila Bell Barkley
(nee Baldwin), formerly of RR1 South Mountain, passed away at
the Dundas Manor Nursing Home on May 24, 2005. She was 83.
She is survived by her husband Keith Bryson Barkley whom she married
on June 18, 1941 in South Mountain. She was born on May 23, 1922
in Oak Valley to the late Lee Baldwin and the late Lula Fetterly.
She was the mother of Elaine Johnson of Spencerville and Donald
Barkley (Brenda) of Mountain. She was the grandmother of Carolyn
Barkley, Beth Johnson and Christine Barkley. She was predeceased
by her siblings Don, Ken, Dwaine, Lyle and Stan Baldwin. She was
sister-in-law of Lois, Helen, Edith and Jean Baldwin; and Muriel,
Lyle (Annie), and Bruce Barkley.
Lila was a housewife and homemaker. She was a member of the United
Church.
The funeral was held in the chapel of the Byers Funeral Home in
South Mountain on May 27 with Rev. Blair Paterson officiating.
Interment followed at Knights Cemetery. Pallbearers were Beth
Johnson, Kevin and Dale Boyd, Kent and Craig Raistrick, Dean Boyd,
and Christine Barkley.
