George Currie Berry
George Currie Berry, of Nation River Road in South Mountain for 37 years, passed away on Jan. 18, 2005 at Winchester District Memorial Hospital. He was 82.
He was the beloved husband of the late Kathleen "Kay" Anna Lambie who passed away in 1996. He was born on March 21, 1922 in Mountain Township to the late David Leroy Berry and the late Eva Rachel Currie. He was loving dad of Dyan Hawkins (Brian), Chris (Cathy) and Sheila (Nick). He was cherished Grandpa of Trevor, Jaclyn and Lauren; and Michael, Stephen and Matthew. He was a dear friend of Muriel Appleton. He was brother to David (Freda), Stan (late Joyce), Marjorie MacDonald (Bill) and Rae (June).
He earned a BA in commerce from Queen's University and attended Harvard Business School. He was a member of the South Mountain United Church.
The funeral was held at South Mountain United Church on Jan. 22 with Rev. Blair Paterson officiating. Pallbearers were grandchildren Trevor, Jaclyn, Lauren Hawkins; and Michael, Stephen and Matthew Berry.
