Ruby F. DeClaire
Ruby F. DeClaire of South Mountain
passed away Sept. 17, 2005, at Winchester District Memorial Hospital.
She was 83.
She was born on June 10, 1922 in Mountain to the late Leonard
Simzer and the late Margaret Arcand. She was predeceased by her
husband Stewart DeClaire (Nov. 21, 1999), whom she married on
Nov. 11, 1946 in South Mountain. She is survived by her daughter
Barbara Stewart (Dale); by grandsons Daryl (Jen) of Chesterville
and Chris (Cindy) of Brinston; and by great-grandson Tyler. Ruby
was the sister of Irene McKenna of Ottawa and Hazel McLaren of
Winchester. She was the sister-in-law of Lillian Simzer of Winchester
and was predeceased by Wilburn Simzer and Arnold Simzer.
Ruby was previously employed as a baker at Robinson's Bake Shop
and a laborer at Berry's Egg Grading Station. She was a member
of the United Church.
The funeral was held in the Chapel of the Byers Funeral Home on
Sept. 20, 2005 at 11 am with Rev. Blair Paterson officiating,
followed by interment at South Gower Cemetery. The pallbearers
were Paul Stewart, Gary Gainer, Larry DeClaire, Lee Baldwin, grandsons
Daryl and Chris Stewart.
