Hazel Tena Rae Merkley
Hazel Tena Rae Merkley (nee Jackson) passed away peacefully on July 9, 2005 at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital. She was 94.
She was the dear wife of the late Ernest Merkley. Hazel is survived by her sister Beatrice Price and by her sister-in-law Dorothy Jackson. She is predeceased by her brothers Ross, Russell, Archie, Beverley, Fred and Stanley and by her sisters Myrtle, Lois and Hilda.
Friends were received at the Winchester Funeral Home, 505 Church St. on July 10 and on July 11 at 12 noon to time of service. The service was held in the chapel with Pastors Thurland Brown and Anita Goulet officiating. Judy Eastman paid tribute to Hazel by singing "In the Garden". Pallbearers were Jamie Shadbolt, Allan Hutchinson, Murray Holmes, Glen Street, Doug Coons, and Elwood Coons. Interment followed at Maple Ridge Cemetery.
A reception followed at the Winchester Wesleyan Church Fellowship Hall.
Donations in memory of Hazel may be made to the Dundas Manor Activity Fund or to the Winchester Wesleyan Church.
