Alfred Leonard Baker

Alfred Leonard passed away peacefully on Aug. 14, 2006 at the
Woodland Villa. He was 86.
He was the beloved husband of the late Vivian Lake. He was the
loving father of Terry Baker, Helen Baldwin, and Doreen Diaram,
and father-in-law of Elaine Baker. He was the cherished grandpa
of Amy-Lynn, Laura, Susie, Christopher, Samantha, Jonathan, Deslyn,
and Roslyn, and seven great-grandchildren. He was the dear brother
of Jane, Ruby, William, Kenneth, and Lois. He was predeceased
by his brothers Charles and Harold and sisters Grace and Ida.
He was a veteran of World War II and a life-member of Branch 108
of the Royal Canadian Legion. When he left the army, he married
Vivian Lake and bought a farm in Inkerman where they raised three
children. They sold their farm in 1974 and moved to Winchester
where he was deeply involved in the community.
Friends paid their respects at the Winchester Funeral Home, on
Aug. 15. The funeral service was held Aug. 16 in the chapel of
the funeral home at 10:30 am followed by interment at Knights
Cemetery.
