Hilda Sophia Bryan

Hilda Sophia Bryan (nee Cassidy) of RR2 Mountain passed away Feb. 25, 2006 at Winchester District Memorial Hospital. She was 81.
She was born on March 9, 1924 in Chesterville to the late Henry Cassidy and the late Gertrude Quackenbush. She was the wife of the late Lester John Bryan, whom she married in Winchester on Oct. 9, 1943. She was the mother of Sharron (Clarence Peterson), Carol (Richard Peterson), Marion (the late George Nelson), and George (Arlene). She was grandmother to Jennifer (Rick Nelson), Leslie Peterson (Paul), the late Bryan Peterson, Marianne Bryan (Dave Sears), Bob Bryan, and Kate and Mathew Nelson; and to great-grandchildren Zachery, Anthony, and Amy Nelson. She was the sister of Earl Cassidy (Robyn) of Australia, and sister-in-law of Carl Bryan (the late Fern). She was predeceased by brothers Lorne, John, and Jim, and by sisters Wilda, and Elizabeth.
Formerly from Maple Ridge (Chesterville), she was a housewife and homemaker. She was a member of the United Church Women of Mountain and Hallville, and was a member of the United Church.
A private funeral was held at Byers Funeral Home in South Mountain. The pallbearers were family members.
