Jean Henderson Casselman
Jean Henderson Casselman of Park Drive Villa in Williamsburg
passed away on Aug. 21, 2006 at Winchester District Memorial Hospital
after a lengthy illness. She was 89.
She was born in Chesterville on Dec. 19. 1916 to the late Carman
McIntosh and the late Jennie McIntosh (nee Henderson). She was
predeceased by her husband Ralph Casselman whom she married on
April 14, 1938 at the Winchester Presbyterian Church Manse. She
is survived by her brother Ron (Leona) McIntosh of Iroquois, sister-in-law
Betty McIntosh of Chesterville, and by nieces, nephews, great-nieces,
and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Bert McIntosh,
and sisters Olive Mallory, and Audrey Fry.
She was a lifetime resident of the area, and spent the last 10
years at Park Drive Villa in Williamsburg. During her life she
worked as a secretary at Ross Beckstead's business, as a clerk
at the Williamsburg Post Office, and as a hairdresser. She was
a very active member of both her church and her community. Within
St. Peter's Lutheran Church she was involved in the Evangelical
Lutheran Women's group, Luther League, and she sang in the choir
for many years. Outside of church, she was involved in the Williamsburg
Women's Institute, Thursday crafters, and Park Drive Villa Seniors
group.
A private funeral service was held at the Marsden and McLaughlin
Funeral Home in Williamsburg on Aug. 24 with Rev. Noreen Gullons
officiating, followed by interment at Dundela Cemetery.
Donations to St. Peter's Lutheran Church or Winchester District
Memorial Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
