Francis 'Allan' Clement
Allan Clement passed away peacefully at home on Sun., Jan. 8, 2006 with his family by his side. Active in his community, Allan served on both Chesterville village and Winchester Township councils, Chesterville and District Agricultural Society, Knights of Columbus, St. Mary's School Board and St. Mary's Parish Council, and the Chesterville Chamber of Commerce.
Friends were received at the Chesterville Funeral Home on Tues., Jan. 10. The funeral service was held Wed., Jan. 11 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father John Gillis officiating. Special music was provided by Tammy McRae and Jennifer Buhr. Pallbearers were Abe Douma, Matthew Clement, Jack Lannin, Arie Oosterman, Richard Casselman and Don Shane. A reception followed at Branch 434 Royal Canadian Legion hosted by St. Mary's Helping Hands. Interment will take place in the spring at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Allan was born in Chesterville to Bernard Clement and Lorella (O'Shea), both of whom predeceased him. He was also predeceased by his sister Jewell, and by his brother Paul. Allan married the former Anne McDonald in 1957. Together they raised four children: Laurie Clement (Bryan Cochrane), Danny (Maureen Palmer), Cathy Clement (Paul Nooyen), and Carolyn (Lindsay Weegar). He loved his "14" grandchildren who brought him many hours of joy and pleasure.
Allan was the proud owner and operator of Clement Feeds from 1958 to 1986. Allan and Anne loved country life and had lived on Highway 43 since 1964. Allan adored his family and always had some "Irish" wit for them.
We wish to express our sincere thanks to our relatives, neighbors, and friends for their memorial donations, mass cards, floral arrangements, sympathy cards and food sent to our home during the recent loss of a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.
