Eileen Margaret Fetterly

February 18, 1924 ­ March 11, 2006

Eileen Margaret Fetterly (nee Jackson) passed away peacefully at Nanaimo Hospital on March 11, 2006.
She is survived by her husband Gerald, sons Brent, Bob, Malcolm, John, daughter Jennifer, eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She grew up in Starbuck, Manitoba. She lived and worked as a nurse in Winnipeg where she cared for others at Deer Lodge Veteran's Hospital, Grace Hospital, and later in the Winnipeg Public Heath Department before retiring to the farm.
She moved to Nanaimo in 1988. Eileen continued to be involved with The Eastern Star, Crescent Chapter, Meals on Wheels, as well as many other community activities. She met Gerald Fetterly, an original Westminster resident, in 1996 and they were married Feb. 16, 2002 in Nanaimo. They enjoyed their short time together and travelled extensively.
A celebration of Eileen's life was held on March 17, 2006 at Brechin United Church, Estevan Road in Nanaimo followed by a reception in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations made be made in Eileen's name to the B.C. and Yukon Heart and Stroke Foundation.
