George Bain Arnold
June 12, 1972 to Nov. 30, 2007
It is with unbearable sadness that the family
announces the tragic and untimely death of Bain Arnold on Nov.
30, 2007 at the Markham /Stouffville hospital. Bain died suddenly
of cardiac arrest from a food allergy reaction.
He was the loving son of George and Marion Arnold (nee Waddell)
of Bobcaygeon, Ont., and nephew of Darlene Hall of Metcalfe, Carolyn
McGregor of Ottawa, and Donald and Harold Waddell of Ottawa. He
was the devoted husband of Margo Sage-Arnold, proud father of
baby Wilkin, and a special brother of Paul of Brechin, Ont. He
will be greatly missed by the Arnold and Sage families, and by
his many nieces, nephews, and cousins, and by all of his wonderful
friends.
He was the director of business development and hospitality for
Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham, for a period of 10 years. In
addition he had been a part-time instructor at Durham College.
He was a contributing writer to Proshop and Golf Business magazines.
More recently he had established his own company, GBA Consulting,
a sports and entertainment consulting business. He was also a
musician, an innovative philanthropist, a devoted family man,
and most of all a lover of life. He touched the lives of many
people, and was highly respected by all.
A memorial visitation was held at the Dixon-Garland Funeral Home
in Markham on Dec. 5. A musical and spiritual celebration of Bain's
life is also being planned for mid January, 2008.
