Bessie Mae Clark

Bessie Mae Clark passed away peacefully on Sat., Oct., 27, 2007. She was 88.
She was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by her daughter Joan Ellis (Michael Sheridan). She was the beloved grandma to Steven Clark, Shawn Clark (Cathy Morrow), Matthew Clark (Kiley McLellan), Barbara (Lynden) Holmes, and Kathryn (Shawn) Borgford. She was the very special great-grandma to Autumn Holmes, Mackayla Clark, Dane Borgford, and Lachlyn Holmes, and she will be missed as "Grandma Bessie" to Jaime, Dana, and Mitchell Sheridan. She was predeceased by her sons Robert (Carol), and Wesley Clark. She is survived by her sisters Dorothy Byers, and Hughetta Thoms, and her brother Hudson (Joan) Stewart, as well as many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her long time neighbours Lorraine and Patricia Hitsman.
She began working at Winchester District Memorial Hospital in 1948, then in 1956 she joined Bell Canada, first in Winchester and later in Ottawa. She received numerous accolades from Bell Canada for years of perfect attendance on the job. She was a dedicated member of the bowling group "The Keene Strikers."
Friends called at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes on Oct. 30. A memorial service will be held at Woodroffe United Church on Oct. 31 at 1 pm. Interment at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Chesterville will be at a later date.
For those who wish, a memorial donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Winchester District Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
