William Anthony Koekkoek

William Anthony Koekkoek (Bill) of South Mountain, formerly of Hallville, passed away at Winchester District Memorial Hospital on Feb. 9, 2007. He was 80.
He was born on June 2, 1926 in Loenen, The Netherlands to the late Wilhelmus Koekkoek and the late Anna Brugmans. He was the husband of Dini (nee Hagen), and the late Hendrika. He was the father of Tony (Mary-Lynn), John (Caroline), Bev Boucher (Howard), Karen Holmes (Dave), Albert (Nancy), Eileen Hudson (Howard), Ann Steel (Brian), and Brian (Karen). He was step-father of Joan Johnson (Derrek), Marian Roussin (John Laporte), William (Carmelle), Liz Van Overbeek (John), Gordon (Anita), Linda Gautthier (Bob), Rita Boisvenue (Dale), Paul (Korey Perusse), Anthony, and Diana Lauzon (Denis). He was opa to 19 grandchildren, 29 step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Albert (Gerry), Dien Havekes (John), and Grada, Wilhemien, Mies, Rieky, and An in Holland, and the late Jan, Lina, and Dora.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Daniel's Council #11725, and a member of St. Daniel's Catholic Church in South Mountain.
The funeral was held at St. Daniel's Catholic Church on Feb. 13 with Rev. John Gillis officiating. Following the service interment was held at St. Daniel's Roman Catholic Cemetery in South Mountain. The pallbearers were sons Tony, John, Albert, and Brian Koekkoek, grandson Ryan Boucher, and brother Albert Koekkoek.
The funeral arrangements were entrusted to Byers Funeral Home in South Mountain.
