Christine Mudde
Christine Mudde, a resident of the Osgoode
Care Centre for the past two years, passed away there on Sat.,
May 5, 2007. She was 92.
She was born in Holland on Feb. 3, 1915, and was the eldest of
four children born to her parents Martinus and Cornelia VanderWoerdt
(nee Trapman). She lived in Holland until 1953 when she immigrated
to Canada and settled in the Brinston area.
She was a member of the Community Christian Reformed Church in
Dixon's Corners, and will always be remembered for her steadfast
love of the Lord. She enjoyed playing the organ, the violin, and
a competitive game of scrabble. Her excellent cooking was appreciated
by many, as was the abundance of fresh produce from her garden.
She is survived by her children Corrie Brunsting of Brockville,
Bram (Gerda) Mudde of Iroquois, Martin (Wilma) Mudde of Ottawa,
Joe (Jacquie) Mudde of Constance Bay, Bert Mudde of Brinston,
Jack (Anne) Mudde of Stittsville, Audrey (Weipo) Bruining of Morrisburg,
Christine (Neil) Vandermeer of Iroquois, and Ron (Denise) Duprey
of Ottawa. She was a cherished Oma of 24 grandchildren and 38
great-grandchildren. She was the dear sister of Adri VanderWoerdt
of Holland. She was predeceased by her husband Teunis, her brother
Gijs, and sisters Ploon deHaan and Cornelia DeVries. She is also
survived by nieces and nephews.
Friends called at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Williamsburg
on May 7. A service of Thanksgiving for Christine's life was held
at the Community Christian Reformed Church in Dixon's Corners
May 8 with Rev. Clarence Witten officiating.
Interment was at New Union Cemetery in Williamsburg. The pallbearers
were grandsons William Bruining, David Vandermeer, Jonathon Mudde,
Jamie Mudde, Jake Brunsting, and Ian Mudde.
Donations to Timothy Christian School or Winchester District Memorial
Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
