Carl Beckstead

Carl Beckstead of Finch passed away peacefully at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital on Tues., May 27, 2008. He was 70.
Carl was born in Chesterville on Dec. 20, 1937 to Burton and Ruth (Darling) Beckstead.
Carl was the beloved husband of Evelyn Beckstead (nee O'Shaughnessy). He was the loving father of Pam (Doug) MacDonald of Munster Hamlet, Sandra (Phillip) Harrison of Monkland, Kimberly (Craig) Carruthers of Morewood, and Carolyn Herfkens of Crysler.
He was the dear brother of Gordon (Marilyn) Beckstead of Ottawa. Carl will be sadly missed by his 14 grandchildren: Taunya, Angela, Kelsey, Joshua, Jenna, Jessica, Cody, Miranda, Austin, Spencer, Nikolas, Elexa, Jade, and Zachary.
Carl was predeceased by his parents, his brother Burt (Joan) Beckstead of Chesterville, and his sister Shirley Kirkwood.
Visitation was held at the Brownlee Funeral Home in Finch on Thursday and Friday. A service in celebration of Carl's life was held in Chalmers United Church in Finch on Fri., May 30 with Rev. Lois Gaudet officiating.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Winchester District Memorial Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
