Amy Florence Holmes

Amy Florence Holmes (nee Adams) passed away peacefully on Sat., Sept. 27, 2008. She was 85.
She was the beloved wife of Irwin Holmes. She was the dear mother of Mary Lou Greenaway, Clara (George) Edwardson, Brenda (David) Simpson, and Kenton (Laurie Ann) Holmes. She was the loved grandmother of Elizabeth, Rob, Kate, Kirk, Natalie, Leslie, Craig, Amy, Jennie, Kaila, Ryan, Sheldon, and Meaghan. She will be missed by her twelve great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brother Earle (Inez) Adams, and sisters-in-law Linda Adams, Von and Mary Holmes, and brother-in-law Robert (Helen) Holmes. She was predeceased by sister Olive and brothers Basil, Stuart, and Gerald.
The family will receive friends at the Winchester Funeral Home on Wed., Oct. 1 from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Winchester Springs United Church on Thurs., Oct. 2 at 1 pm, followed by interment at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Chesterville.
